Upon placing your order, we will arrange a suitable delivery date. A minimum allowance of 5ft of space is essential at the external machinery end to ensure correct air flow and access for our engineer. After taking delivery one of our engineers will attend your premises to commission the container –  cold storage container hire commissioning.

We are the only company to offer a 24/7 emergency call out assistance line, manned by our own staff. Unlike our competitors we do not outsource to any 3rd party call centres. You will deal with someone who knows our business, your business and offers immediate assistance.

Commissioning Details

On site commissioning consists of:

  • Check you have adequate power supply to operate the container (this can only be checked from the socket – i.e. not back to your electrical board – that aspect is the customer’s responsibility).
  • Plugging in of the container cable into your socket.
  • Setting to your required temperature.
  • Full walk through user guidelines and usage including loading instructions and instructions on keeping the container ice free.

Call Out/Customer Responsibilities

  • Before contacting our 24 hour support line, customers must ensure the power supply to the unit is fully functional.
  • Check the container at regular intervals to ensure the temperature reading is remaining constant and supply us with the last 3 days temperature recordings.
  • Ensure your cargo is allowing sufficient air flow around the container’s interior.

After Commissioning

  • Before loading ensure your container has achieved your required temperature.
  • Our containers are designed as holding units only, they are not blast freezers and you should never attempt to operate these in this way.
  • They are designed to store products/cargo at approx. the same temperature the cargo is loaded at (i.e.) set the temperature on the container at -20 then you must load at -18 to -20.
  • Ensure you check the container at least 3 times per day or more frequently if your internal policies require.
  • You must keep the container clean internally and externally.
  • Internal lighting is a consumable, therefore if the lights are working upon commissioning replacement tubes thereafter are customer liability.
